Civica Connect to provide Internet Solution to revolutionise communication at New Fylde Housing
As part of a full review of their corporate telephony system and communication lines, New Fylde Housing have chosen Civica Connect to implement a new, reliant Internet solution by the beginning of 2008.  This forms part of their new 3 year IT strategy, deemed necessary as the business becomes increasingly dependent on the Internet for their day to day running.

Civica Connect will provide a fully managed solution including:

• Internet access with added resilience for all head office staff to ensure access 
  to vital web based systems is optimised.
• Civica Connect will install a fully managed private broadband network at New 
  Fylde’s remote sheltered schemes guaranteeing full security to remote staff.
• Resilience will be delivered to guarantee up-time and reliability.
• An efficient and secure e-mail solution will be installed.
• Remote access to the New Fylde Housing network, for specified users.
• Controlled web access for New Fylde’s sheltered scheme manager.  Web 
  usage will be controlled at head office, and be subject to the New Fylde’s  
  central security policy.
• The ability for New Fylde to remotely manage connected devices.  Reducing   
  the need for on-site IT resource.
• A fully scalable VOIP telephony connection for 8 sheltered housing scheme 
  managers. Significantly reducing call costs.
• A dedicated support line in the form of the Civica Connect helpdesk, with 24
  hour monitoring tools and skilled technicians working in their area of expertise.
• Training to key IT personnel to ensure effectiveness of the solution is 
  maximised.

When asked what led to New Fylde Housing awarding Civica Connect the contract, Sally Little, Head of Finance and IT at New Fylde Housing responded:

“We narrowed down the tender responses to two serious candidates and the final decision came down to the in house efficiency gain on resources of a fully managed system and the professional manner in which all criteria in our tender request had been fully met and frequently exceeded.”

This cost efficient and flexible solution will lead to greater efficiencies, improve the current level of service and will fully exploit all capabilities of New Fylde Housing’s telephone system, whilst providing a resilient, highly available and secure Internet connection, which will benefit both staff and customers alike.
