Civica Helps Launches Unique Storage And Data Recovery Service at Storage Expo 2007

Unique delivery model helps organisations protect vital data assets; sector track record and partnerships underpin end-to-end storage capability

Civica, one of the UK’s leading providers of consulting, software and services, will be introducing its new end-to-end Storage and Data Recovery Service on stand 535 at Storage Expo 2007.

Civica’s new Storage and Data Recovery Service will enable enterprises, mid-range companies and public sector organisations to better manage explosive growth in data flows, achieve strategic, cost effective and energy-efficient protection of their business-critical data assets as well as the complex infrastructures that underpin them.

The new offering comprises five core areas: information life cycle management (ILM) infrastructure, Data Recovery Management, Storage Capacity Planning & Data Analysis, Storage and Server Virtualisation and Carbon Footprint Reduction.

Delivered through Civica Services – the Civica group’s specialist infrastructure and services division – the end to end storage service complements existing security, infrastructure and software asset management offerings.
Executives and managers will use Civica’s new Storage and Data Recovery service elements to design organisation-wide data storage and recovery strategies, achieve legislative compliance, virtualise applications, gain optimum performance from their IT infrastructure, improve their data centres’ cost of ownership or manage down its carbon footprint, as their individual situation demands.

Civica has integrated the capabilities of its leading vendor partners to establish a ‘one stop’ service model encompassing consultancy, systems integration and programme evaluation relating to storage issues. The  service platform builds on Civica’s long standing partnerships with Network Appliance, VMWare, Hitachi Data Systems and Compellent

Steve Reynolds, managing director, Civica Services, said: “UK organisations are having to adopt a more strategic approach to storage and recovery issues. This is because they are facing unprecedented set of pressures: civil contingencies legislation, customer demands for faster, high availability Web 2.0 business systems, and sector-specific service recovery standards. We are also seeing rapidly increasing pressures on businesses to operate ‘greener’ storage infrastructures.
