housing management organisations
City Building (Glasgow) to manage 110,000 homes and its 2,000-strong mobile workforce using Civica’s Servitor software

Civica has signed a 3-year £650,000 contract with City Building (Glasgow) LLP to provide its Servitor housing job management system, which will help enhance the administration of 110,000 homes in Glasgow.

Civica’s Servitor will replace City Building’s existing housing repair system and enable the association’s mobile workforce of some 2,000 plumbers, builders, joiners and suppliers to enter repairs and maintenance information and to progress reports remotely on the system using mobile devices. Servitor will also send scheduled alerts to the relevant workforce team when a property is due for a maintenance visit, ensuring that service level agreement targets are met.

City Building (Glasgow) LLP evolved from the former Building Services Department of Glasgow City Council. Its new status enables the organisation to deliver quality construction, housing management and related services across the public and private sectors, with an annual turnover in excess of £150 million. The company offers a wide range of housing services, from gas and electric utilities servicing and housing repairs to the construction and design of social and private housing. It completes over half a million repairs every year.

Civica’s Servitor system will help City Building to manage its mobile workforce more effectively and to gain management information, such as time, activity and revenue per job completed, whilst also providing a critical feed into its management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

John Foley, Finance Director, City Building said: “Civica’s Servitor housing job management system is a major investment for us in the future development of our organisation. It will provide us with the right technological infrastructure needed to drive us forward, while maintaining the excellent levels of customer service that our customers have come to expect.

“Because we have our own skilled mobile workforce, we are increasingly winning contracts in the private sector from clients who know that we can be counted on to deliver their housing repairs and maintenance on a 24/7 basis. Civica’s Servitor system will help us maintain our high quality of work, while ensuring we are reporting correctly to both these new clients and our existing customers.

“We chose to go with Civica because of its high level of knowledge of the social housing sector, its delivery of administrative process improvements and in-depth technical expertise and support.”

John Hood, divisional managing director, Civica, said: “City Building has trusted Civica to provide a complete housing job management platform that can be adapted and scaled up easily as the organisation grows.
