Spydus and smartsm™ offer complete library management solution for Wokingham District Council
Enhanced stock control improves customer service and drives costs savings

Civica has entered into a partnership with Bridgeall Libraries Limited, the supplier of smartsm, the world leading Evidence Based Stock Management (EBSM) software application. The partnership with smartsm will allow Civica to offer customers further efficiencies in operating its Spydus library management system, particularly in areas such as stock performance management and acquisition, as well as lowering costs, improving performance and customer service levels.

Wokingham District Council is the first Civica customer to subscribe to the smartsm service, which will support the enhancement of their service provision to their users. By implementing Civica’s Spydus library management platform within the smartsm system library staff will benefit from innovations such as easier access to the stock management information they need in order to drive performance improvements in their catalogue and align it with local demand.

Ian Downie, Commercial Manager, Bridgeall Libraries comments: “We are delighted to be working closely with Civica to integrate smartsm with Spydus. This now allows Civica’s customers to enjoy the stock performance improvements that smartsm brings and gain additional efficiencies when managing and developing their collections.”

Simon Parkes, Director, Civica said: “The combination of Civica and Bridgeall Libraries brings breadth and depth of skill and experience in order to help library services deliver an enhanced customer experience as well as offering further operational cost savings.  We look forward to working together with Bridgeall Libraries to help Wokingham District Council achieve its goals.”
