Welcome to the first edition of Civica Public Protection Newsletter
Welcome to the first edition of Civica Public Protection Newsletter designed to bring you up to date with the latest information on projects, product releases and developments within Civica Public Protection. Through this publication, we aim to provide an interactive channel of communication and for that we need input from the user community. I’m therefore delighted to have Sandra Harvey, User Group Chair Person on the editorial committee and later in the newsletter you can see Sandra’s introduction to the Users’ column which this time features contributions from Andy Cooling (Derbyshire) and Phil Edwards (Salford).

Along with the Users’ column, we have a number of other regular features including hot topics, hotline update and CPP team news. The hot topic for this issue is GIS Toolkit and, as you expect, our sales and support teams are ready to answer any questions you have relating to any of the subjects highlighted in this issue.

Stoke Rochford 2006 was an enormous success and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all concerned for a thoroughly productive yet enjoyable couple of days. This year saw the largest ever contingent from Civica and our clinic style setup in the William Burns’ suite proved very popular indeed. The review of APP v7.09 and the ‘taster’ demonstration of our forthcoming e-learning solution certainly generated a lot of discussion and positive feedback. We also unveiled our road map for GIS development, demonstrating our commitment to this technology and ensuring that Authorities can continue to utilise the benefits of spatial and graphical tools when working with their APP data. For the regular ‘Stoke Rochfordonians’ amongst you, I’d like to announce that due to the extremely popular feedback on the Champagne Reception we will sponsor a similar evening at next year’s event.

I hope you enjoy the read and keep contributing through the User’s column. Finally, I hope that the festive season brings you good cheer and wish you a happy new year!

Best wishes
Tony Hughes
(Operations Director)
