1. Contact your SAM partner Civica Services and request a Microsoft SAM Programme permission form. Submit the form to Microsoft at uksam@microsoft.com
   
2. Register for FREE Microsoft SAM basics course. Email: uksam@microsoft.com
   
3. Civica will complete the program with you.~
   
4. Clarify the project scope with Civica inc:
   • Licensing statement
   • Physical statement
   • Install data already held
   • Reseller details
   • Existing SAM processes & procedures
   
5. Discover & verify with Civica what data is on the network
   
6. Verify proof of licenses for
   • OEM licenses
   • Full packaged products
   • Volume licensing
   • Machine sampling for windows OEM
   Civica submits proof of licensing (POL) document to Microsoft.
   
7. Civica incorporates install data and POL into Actual Licensing Position (ALP) determining the estates licensing entitlement. Agree ALP with Civica
   
8. Microsoft SAM team work with Civica to validate ALP, Civica advises customer on over / under licensing. Customer to advise Civica of licensing purchases. Orders to be placed within 30 days of ALP validation date.
   
9. Upon verification of orders received a certificate for the Microsoft SAM Programme will be sent to the customer.
   
10. Customer receives invitation to repeat the SAM programme in 12 months.
